That Color Called Mustard

Don't we all just internally "ugh" when we hear the word mustard? Unless you are a die-hard fan of the color, you understand how the word mustard can give you chills (at least when it comes to fashion). Normally, unless you are colorblind, you tend to stray as far away from the color as possible. It's completely understandable due to the fact it is known to be hard to work with. Though, if you are lucky enough, you will come across that amazing piece (in the color mustard no less) that will perfect an outfit. Luckily for me, I found that piece.
On one of my recent trips into the valley (Studio City area for all of you who don't live in California) my sister and I visited a store that I've mentioned before; Crossroad Trading Co. This store is heaven. Much like Buffalo Exchange, another favorite of mine, Crossroad Trading Company sells second hand name brand clothes for cheap. Selling everything from shoes to dresses to watches, this store truly has it all.
My purchases this last time consisted of three things. One, the mustard and green sweater shown below ($18.50, Stella Sweater), a basic blue dress ($12.50, Forever 21) and a stripped green, blue, and yellow cutout dress ($25, Audrey). The dresses were fairly easy to imagine myself wearing but the sweater was an obstacle. I ended up wearing the sweater, cutoff vintage Levi shorts, my Doc Martens, a turquoise necklace from San Fran, and a variety of rings to add a little touch. Overall I loved the way the shorts and sweater complimented each other. In my opinion it was a match won in my favor against the mustard.
xoxo, Paloma
