One of the first things tourists do when they arrive in Southern California is go to the 3rd Street Promenade. So today Delilah and I ventured into tourist zone. We dressed in our "Sunday's Best" or as my dad said "tried to be fashionistas". Delilah wore a high-low top from Buffalo Exchange, shoes from Italy, jewelry from Anthropologie, Roxy shorts, and a bag she bought off of eBay. I wore my ribbed Brandy tank, a ripped up sweater from Nordstroms around my waist, a Brandy maxi skirt, my Topshop boots, and jewelry from my mom's closet. I didn't end up getting a picture of my right hand but I added some mermaid touches to my nail polish. We sneakily took some pictures in front of the famed "Brandy Wall" (where they take all their Instagram pictures) without drawing too much attention to ourselves.
Part of our journey today was back-to-school outfit shopping! I ended up buying a dress from Brandy and a denim crop top from Zara (layer HOLLA) to wear on my first day back. I will not spoil what I am actually going to wear or how I plan on wearing those pieces until the first day back, so you'll have to hold your horses. Delilah (major shopaholic) bought about six ah-dorable items so I can't really say what she'll actually wear either.
I am an avid believer in making a strong statement on your first day back to school. Whether you're the new kid, starting a new school (middle/high school), or just going back for another year, you want to make an impression on everyone you meet or see! Considering all of this, don't just dress to impress, feel comfortable in what you are wearing! It can be painfully obvious when someone is uncomfortable or looks like they're trying too hard. Just know what you want to wear, make sure it's comfortable, and rock it!
