Miss Santa Barbara

Hello everyone! I was not able to post last week due to the fact that I was both sick and without my computer for a few days. I am back again today to resume the weekly blogging schedule, and although this post was shot over the weekend, the only thing that has changed is that I was in school today and not in Santa Barbara.
This past weekend, I went with my family to Santa Barbara for the sole reason of getting sushi from a place called Marina Sushi in Ventura. Although I was originally against the idea of driving three hours (round trip) just for some sushi, the idea grew on me when I realized I could get some pretty great blog pictures there and it would be a change of scenery from my boring ol' backyard. So we got our bags together (making sure we packed enough sunscreen because I come from a family of easily sunburned people) and drove away into the sunset. Except not. In fact it was daytime.
Anyways, upon our arrival in Santa Barbara, my little sister and I went off on our own in search of the perfect place to shoot and after some time exploring, we decided on a mission near Main St. The really cool thing about Santa Barbara is that there are dozen on missions scattered all over town, and each of these missions is incredibly interesting and beautiful. The mission we choose had a beautiful orange tree (which was in full blossom) in it's front lawn, or whatever else you might call it. And this beautiful and deliciously smelling tree served as our backdrop.
For the post, I wanted to show a simple, yet comfortable and cute, outfit that was perfect for days when your family decides to take day trips. I first put on my new jumpsuit/romper from Urban Outfitters that could honestly double as a onesie. It is so comfortable and soft that it just makes you want to curl up and watch Gossip Girl. Who am I kidding anything makes me want to do that. I then added my favorite pair of shoes from Topshop, which were kind of needed considering the length of the jumpsuit. Finally I topped off the look was a pair of Harry Potter inspired sunglasses from Buffalo Exchange and a basic jean jacket. I honestly love this outfit and it is so easy, breezy and beautiful that it might as well be from CoverGirl.

I also took the liberty of doing my own nails and bringing out the "indie" hands. I added a good three or four rings to each hand and added a few homemade bracelets to my wrists.
So it all basically boils down to the fact that Santa Barbara is a gorgeous town filled with great backdrops for blog posts, and I would not mind living there at some point in my life. But for now, let's just call me Miss Santa Barbara.
xoxo, Paloma
