Take a Walk on the Gothic Side

Staying true to my edgy side, this post is dedicated to the gothic glamor that exists in the world today, and how one might accomplish their own version of it.
The bottom line is that gothic fashion exist all around us, yet it is never considered emo. Nowadays, black isn't reserved for those with the tattoos and lip piercings, but is now considered one of the most popular colors amongst all women. I know you are all probably wondering how this could be true, but think about it. When you open up any sort of fashion related magazine, how often do you see a picture of a woman wearing an all black outfit? It's more common than you think, and it's not just popular amongst those in the public eye. Take a random day for example, and if you pay attention, you'll notice that you will almost always wear at least one black piece of clothing. It could range from a pair of black leggings to a black jacket. Black has not only become an incredibly popular color because of its look, but due to the fact that it is incredibly slimming on one's figure.
Now to be gothic and chic, you do not need to wear all black. Gothic pieces come in the form of many colors such as: black, maroon, dark purple, navy blue, and basically every other dark shade of a color. Considering all of this, I made my look today completely gothic.
For my look I wore a dark red patterned dress from Urban Outfitters, ripped semi-sheer tights, and black leather boots with gold accents from Topshop. Although the clothes by themselves seem gothic, to finish the outfit I straightened my hair and added a dark lip and dark makeup. The dark lip and eye makeup sharply contrast with my pale skin, giving me an even vamp-ier look.

For anyone who would want to make a gothic yet chic outfit, I recommend starting with a few basic dark pieces and adding from there. Most times, it is the makeup and hair that complete the gothic-ness of an outfit (although the clothes and shoes play a major part as well).
Until next time my little vampires (just kidding you are all probably tan and not at all dead)
xoxo, Paloma
